Default 700 vs 700

Matchups of coaches with 700 wins doesn't happen that often, as there are only something like 19 or 20 all time and only 7 or 8 active.

Saturday will showcase a matchup of two coaches with EXACTLY 700 wins each.

JB vs. JC in a pretty big BE match up. I can't wait.

Congrats to JC and JB.

Tonight was extra sweet in giving JC another 20 win season, and moving into a tie for the BE lead.

PS - Hamilton, Okafor, and Allen did a montage for JC that they played after the game. There was one other guest for the montage....JB. Classy guys. Gotta love it.

Jimmy B wouldn't have 700 had he lost the National Championship game to Kansas.

Clank.

Nor would JC have it had he lost the National Championship game to Duke....trip, stumble, turnover.

(I didn't mention the G.Tech final, since that game wasn't even close, although I know the clank is the classic Abs saying for a choke)

Yeah he might have like 705-710 because Carmelo might've stuck around until he won a championship and they would've won a few more games last year. jk

until bob knight joined the big 12 (playing eddie sutton's team every year), there were very few games ever played between coaches with 700+ wins. i think i read somewhere that there have still only been about 10, with at least half of them between knight and sutton.

big game between ND and Pitt at 2....that will decided the tiebreaker should 'Cuse beat UConn.

Would be cool if ND won, which would put the pressure on UConn to beat 'Cuse. Then if UConn won, it would put the pressure on BC to win....since those 3 games are 2, 4, and 7 pm respectively.

I love days like this.

If Pitt wins, UConn could win or lose and still be second in the BE seeding.

Well, ND didn't put the pressure on UConn, but they won anyway, pressure on BC now.

BC wins - UConn gets the two seed for the BE tournament
BC doesn't win - UConn gets the top seed

BTW, with Washington chocking to Stanford, UConn will most likely move from the last #3 seed to the top #3 seed...leap frogging Louisville and 'Zona.

A strong showing in the BE tournament, UConn could be looking at a 2 seed at the expense of BC.

Connecticut coach Jim Calhoun, left and Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim, right, stand between Big East Commissioner Mike Tranghese, after they were presented with matching 700 winning game career high trophies before the start of a game in Storrs, Conn., Saturday, March 5, 2005. Connecticut won 88-70.

unless 'Cuse falls apart, looks like we'll see a rematch of last week....except now it would be 702 vs 701 with JC holding the slight edge
