Default Good & bad movies of 2006

Instead of continuing to drop 20+ ppd on you poor people, I decided I'd waste my time on this instead.

The point of this thread is:
To put together consensus AO lists of the best and worst movies of 2006.

The way it works:
It's very simple - whenever you see a movie that came out in 2006, boil your opinion of it down to "Good" or "Bad", and post the movie title along with "Good" or "Bad" in this thread. Maybe write a couple of lines to explain yourself, too, if you feel like it. Then I'll use those good/bad votes to keep running tallies of the lists.

Obviously, people should only be voting on movies they've seen from start to finish, and there should be only one vote per movie per immortal soul (as opposed to one vote per AO ID). Voting will finish up on June 30, 2007, to give the movies that come out near the end of the year more of a fair shake.

I realize the votes will be biased towards "Good", because people tend to see movies they expect they'll like, so maybe we should make a conscious effort to be a bit more stingy with the "Good" votes. Whatever decision individual people come to on how to handle their votes will be fine, though. Also, some people's votes may lead to discussion about the movies, and that may make some people want to go back and change one of their votes, which is perfectly fine as well.

Eligible movies are:
Any movie that had its first-run wide release in theatres in 2006 ("wide release" being 600+ theatres in the U.S. & Canada);
unless it didn't reach wide release, in which case it can be any movie that had its first-run limited theatre release in the U.S. and/or Canada in 2006;
unless it was never released in the U.S. or in Canada, in which case it can be any movie that had its first-run theatre release anywhere else in the world in 2006;
unless it was never released in theatres at all, in which case it can be anything that was released on video/DVD for the first time in 2006.

This page will be greatly helpful in determining eligibility, and it looks like boxofficemojo.com will be a valuable resource as well. If it's really unclear whether or not a movie should be eligible, I'll probably lean towards allowing it on the lists, 'cause I ain't the secret police.

Note - The following movies were in limited release in 2005 but only reached (or, by all indications, will reach) wide release in 2006, and are thus eligible to receive votes:
Munich, Brokeback Mountain, The Matador, Casanova

Lists:
There'll be three of them: Best Movies, Worst Movies, and Limbo.
To get on the Best Movies list, a movie must have at least 3 "Good" votes, and at least 60% of its total votes must be "Good".
To get on the Worst Movies list, a movie must have at least 3 "Bad" votes, and at least 60% of its total votes must be "Bad".
All other movies will go on the Limbo list. Obviously a movie can move from list to list as more votes roll in.

The movies on each list will be ranked according to their credibility-weighted percentage of "Good" votes; the complement of credibility will be 50%, the full credibility standard will be equal to 80% of the average number of votes obtained by the 5 movies with the most votes, and the square root credibility rule will be used. A higher value of this statistic will indicate a better movie.
If two movies are tied in that respect, they'll be ranked according to the number of "Good" votes they got: more "Good" votes = better movie.
If two movies are tied in both those respects, they'll be ranked according to their date of release: later date of release = better movie.

Munich - Good

Was 'Munich' released in 2006. (OK I looked at your list it was).

A little long though I go to the school of anything over 90 minutes is to long. But refreshing in that it was a good story. And that seems rare nowadays.

Based on this post I can see why I am an Actuary and not a film critic.

This is one of the wonky things I mentioned, as it's also on their 2005 list (December 23rd). Might be a limited release vs. wide release thing. But I don't want to be starting the thread off on a negative note.

Might I propose a special 4th category to be added in August?

Hostel: Bad. This movie sucks. It's predictable and non-scary and simply gorey, definitely a waste of 1.5 hours, rent the dvd and watch the 15 minutes of gore if that's your thing.

Hostel - Bad

Hostel is wrong, and bad. There should be a new, stronger word for Hostel like badwrong, or badong. Yes, Hostel is badong.

Just curious, didn't that get released at the end of 2005?
