The N64 controller might be proof that aliens exist, and they're working for Nintendo.

I guess I get that they were thinking people would use either the D-pad or joystick, not both, but there were clearly better options than a three-handle controller.

So unless you have friends on xbox, there isn't a reason.
I feel like M$ wants to position themselves for the death of the console (they've said they think the next gen console will be the last gen). Certainly not across the board, but they've supported cross platform play from Xbox to PC on a game or two (Gears of War comes to mind). So even less reason to get an xbox if you have a PC.

Yeah I know there are those who love the gamecube controller.

I have always been a big xbox and sega dreamcast controller fan.

I liked being able to call my football plays on the screen within the Dreamcast controller.

Gamecube controllers were pretty good for what they were, it was just weird cause it has the big A, but the triggers were nice cause they were an additional button if you pressed them all the way.

I think it's unfair to talk about ergonomics for any console before ps2 because it seems like no one gave that any thought before then.

For me I find the xbox 360 (haven't used an xbone controller enough to cast an opinion on it even though it's similar) to be the best design and execution of all controllers. The ps3/4 triggers (L2/R2) and joysticks are just too flimsy and don't feel precise enough when compared to xbox 360.
