Job Description Provides an active role in the development and maintenance of all necessary data, analyses, tools, reports, rating and reimbursement and structures as needed to support the products and services and the associated business decisions.

Essential Job Duties
1.Develop and maintain reporting and pricing models for Medicare Advantage including populating BPT files.
2.Provide analysis and development of financial statement reserves and other liabilities including claim and revenue accruals, incentive and risk-share payments, etc.
3.Provide analysis, forecasting, and reporting of claims experience and trends and the development of budget projection inputs.
4.Provide preparation and review of financial analysis, variance reports and ad hoc reports. Supports department managers and supervisors as a technical expert on financial systems and processes.
5.Provides input and support for internal and external audits and reporting.
6.Analyzes and reports business and product trends.
7.Designs, develops, and maintains data extracts and complex queries and on-line data analysis and reporting tools.

Minimum Requirements
•Bachelor's degree in math, statistics, computer science, economics, or finance obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.
•SOA Courses 1 - 4 or Course 1 and three years relevant actuarial experience.
•Intermediate skills with word processing, spreadsheet, databases, and analytic software (e.g., SQL, SAS, etc.)

Preferred Requirements
•ASA or near-ASA and four years of relevant actuarial experience.
•Two plus years of experience working on the Medicare Advantage bid process
•Experience working on Part D pricing.
•Understanding of underlying theory and effects of assumptions used in product development and maintenance.
•Experience working on Medicaid products and other health insurance products.
•Knowledge of health insurance products.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.

A minor detail, but the SOA hasn't referred to the exams as "courses" or by number in over a decade. Just sayin'. Also, there are currently 5 preliminary exams in addition to other requirements.
