Well the idea of timing is to catch big moves. There are more big moves at the moment. And don't get too distracted by options talk. Most people are just wondering how much to be in cash or not.

It blew up and lost most of all of its value. I forget why exactly. Might have been around the time they realized the roll over cost was messed up. Other times they don't perform as you'd expect.

No. Almost got burned once on a volatility ETF that shut down without warning a day after I sold out of it.

For particular markets it would make sense. It's hard to trade oil directly on my own...
