			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>Take Three: quick, before my better judgment kicks in, I'm going to run one more round of the <a href="http://www.actuarialoutpost.com/actuarial_discussion_forum/showthread.php?t=190797" target="_blank">Free Rides</a>/<a href="http://www.actuarialoutpost.com/actuarial_discussion_forum/showthread.php?t=198877" target="_blank">Act Odd, Get Even</a> game.  The rules are more or less the same as the last two times around, but with modifications (indicated below in bold) to try to make it, I dunno, winnable.<br />

This is a quick game, I'm hoping for a minimum of 8 players.<br />

Each player will start with 20 points. There will be two types of rounds:<br />
<br />
1. Rewards: each player PMs me with how many points to put in the rewards pot. The pot will then be increased by a factor of 2 or 3 or 4 (randomly chosen). The increased pot will be split between all active players, whether they contributed to the pot or not. Rounding down in case of non-integer splits.<br />
<br />
For example, suppose in round 1 players A, B, and C all put 20 points in the pot, which is doubled to 120 points total. Those 120 points are spread between players A, B, C, and D, bringing A, B, &amp; C to 30 points each, but D to 50 points.<br />
<br />
2. Punishments: each player PMs me with how bad they want to zap some other player or players. The cost of each point zapped will be a <b>1/1 or 1/2 or 1/3</b> of the zap, rounding up if non-integer.  <b>Also, if A and B zap each other, the amount they mutually zap is cancelled. So if A zaps B for 20 and B zaps A for 25, this nets out to B zaps A for 5. A and B still spend the points for the 20 and 25.</b><br />
<br />
For example, suppose in round 3 A and B each want to zap D, by 10 and 20 points respectively. The cost is figured as 1/2, so D loses 30 points at a cost of 5 to A and 10 to B, while C stays at 30 points.<br />
<br />
If a player is reduced to 0 (or negative) points, they are out of the game. <b>The rounds not evenly divisible by 3 will be rewards, every third round will be punishment.</b> First person to 200 points wins <b>(or highest score if multiple people get over 200 in a round)</b>, or last person standing if everyone else is eliminated.<br />
<br />
Finally, in addition to posting &quot;IN&quot; in this thread, players should PM me with their &quot;default&quot; position for reward rounds. The possible default positions are all-in or all-out; that is put all the points into the pot or stay out entirely. We will have a minimum of one round per workday, and if I do not hear from you, you will play your default position. (Everyone's default is no zapping in punishment rounds.)<br />
